He began weight training at 12 and at 19 won his first competition - the Teenage Mr. Wisconsin. At 25, and bulked up to a remarkable 235 lbs, he won the Mr. Wisconsin Super Heavyweight, and at 27 won his IFBB pro card in Atlanta. A first place win in Toronto marked his pro debut and solidified his professional BB status. A string of top 10 placings followed. In a 2005 article he refers to his 280 lb frame and a 2008 piece mentions his 61" chest. Impressive.
His BB career came to an abrupt end in 2007 when he was turned over to federal prosecutors. Art's response to allegations at the time was reported here.
According to http://www.artatwood.com/, Art calls Dallas, Texas home, but that information was posted in 2008.
Anybody know how Art's saga ended?
